For the fifth year Ballinlough Castle and it's magnificent surrounds will play host to Body and Soul festival 2014. One of the most popular of the smaller festivals in Ireland, Body & Soul has garnered a reputation as a boutique festival with a unique atmosphere.
In previous years attendees will have been entertained with woodland hot tubs, spoken-word performances and a variety of different herbal healings and therapies. There have been Michelin star chefs plying their trade and street performers and artists mingling amongst the crowd.
Originally Body & Soul was a firm favourite in the grounds of Electric Picnic, but 5 years ago, thanks to organiser Avril Stanley, it broke out and staged it's own festival to great critical acclaim. Families are welcome, with an area - soul kids garden - set aside specifically for kids.
Previous music line-ups have focused on providing a range of smaller acts from Ireland and around the world. We'll add the line-up below as they're announced, or you can subscribe to Body & Soul to get an email alert when artists are added.
If you're after an alternative festival experience which focuses more on the small details like lantern-lit pathways and four poster picnics, than headline acts, then Body and Soul should be right up your street.
Last year the lineup was really impressive with Nick Cave, Nicholas Jaar and Solange Knowles.
We'll post the 2014 lineup as it's announced here or you can subscribe to receive an email as they are added.
This year there will be a tiered ticketing system and an instalment payment plan. A limited number of weekend tickets will be sold in each price tier. Early birds (Tier 1) go on sale 10.30am this Friday 22nd November.
Once Tier 1 tickets sell out, Tier 2, Tier 3, 4 and 5 will become available. So, get your tickets early at the lowest Tier 1 price while available!
Only 50 minutes from Dublin, the festival is set in the ethereal surrounds of 15th century Ballinlough Castle Estate, Co. Westmeath.
This quirky festival never fails to thrill even the most discerning festival-goers with the most dynamic and diverse programme on the island. Electronic beats alongside disco, soul and rock ‘n’ roll, coupled with a midnight masquerade ball, five-course gourmet feasts, performance theatre, holistic arts, tented talks, a dedicated soul kids garden and a strong ethos of sustainability make this boutique festival the pick of the summer.
